gundam: MSFL is an original mobile suit gundam setting that takes inspiration from universal century, gquuuuuux, and the witch from mercury.

In the year 2320, the Mobile Suit Fighting League was established. Originally, it was loose and unorganized, with repurposed Mobile Suits from the Final War dueling out in open space.

By 2380, it was a household name. It skyrocketed in popularity after it gained more funding from massive corporate sponsors and got broadcasted more widely, with people on both Earth and the colonies tuning in to watch their favorite pilots duel. Touko Stadium, named for a famous Mobile Suit pilot from the early days of the sport, was constructed in 2350, and still the only place where officially sanctioned MSFL duels happen.

Touko Stadium consists of a central rotating cylinder similar to the ones used to create colonies, though on a smaller scale. It's surrounded by seating for viewers, tons of facilities for broadcasting, mechanics, pilot housing, and similar things- It's far more than a simple stadium. It's a full-on space station and home base for MSFL pilots.

The Four Corporate Sponsors

The MSFL is primarily sponsored by four large companies. Most pilots are sponsored by one of them, with their mobile suit having their colors and logos on them. It's not a requirement, though- Many pilots have been sponsored by smaller companies and groups.

The Gaian Group was one of the first major sponsors of the MSFL. The company was one of the biggest players in the advancement of Mobile Suit technologies. They created the Gundam-type Mobile Suit, which are specially designed and created to be piloted by Newtypes. The company has dedicated billions of dollars into researching Newtypes, and have made major breakthroughs in that field as well. Despite being the first to create them, Gundam-type Mobile Suits are nothing new by now. Almost every Mobile Suit company has made one, although many have gone unused. The Gaian Group's Mobile Suits used to be rather blocky and plain, but their design philosophy has changed over the years, with their Mobile Suits now sporting sleek and stylish designs.

There's a semi-popular rumor that The Gaian Group is using their research into genetics and Newtypes to create cloned, artificial Newtypes that can be used as pilots in the MSFL. Many people thing it's completely ridiculous, but some claim it's totally true... Nobody knows for certain.

Baz Heavy Industries, or BHI as they are often called, primarily specializes in machines for manual operations, such as construction, mining, and so on. The Mobile Suits they produce for combat are known for being heavily armored and stout in build. This iconic look has gained a sizeable following, as many find it quite cute.
